I am based in Raleigh, North Carolina - ranked by Forbes as the best place for business and careers.

Some of the things I love about living in Raleigh are the great and easily accessible (e.g. no long lines, affordable, family friendly) cultural and sports activities, the friendly people, the weather and the proximity to beautiful beaches (2 hours) and mountains (2 hours).

For business, Raleigh and the greater Triangle area, which includes Durham, Chapel Hill and Research Triangle Park, have an increasingly dynamic entrepreneurial scene that is giving rise to some great companies.  I can get in my car and be in Charlotte in 3 hours, DC or Atlanta in 3-4 hours, and via the RDU airport, I can be anywhere from Chicago east in 1-2 hours.  They've recently added a direct to SFO, which is great, but I normally prefer flying to San Jose and regrettably no directs there as yet.
